It’s interesting how difficult people make it sound to start a business or even spend time thinking about how to get out of a job that they don’t love.
I recommend if you are wanting to start something to brainstorm and think about what you are good at. There are people that need your service, you can help them. You can spend an hour a day thinking about something you can offer to people. By the end of the week you could easily see if your idea sells by just simply asking friends and family about it (people you can trust).
This coming year I will multiply my business again by learning from the mistakes I make and learning from those are more successful than me in my niche.
Success models success
Nothing is easy, if it were everyone would be successful….
I’m sitting here at Starbucks on a Thursday night doin’ some work finishing my to-do list for today. I wanted to write this post because I just overheard a brief conversation from the table next to me and I couldn’t help but to eavesdrop a little.
I was paying attention closely to what they were saying about their current situations and how they wish things were better. They both were talking about how much better it would be to start their own business or to get a better job replacing the one they have now. Instead of finding solutions, all they focused on was how bad their current situation was. I believe anyone that is SERIOUS about starting their own business is fully capable of doing it if they are wired to work for themselves.
Personally, I am sick and tired of talking to people that are “Wantrepreneurs” (people who read entrepreneur magazine instead of living it). You don’t have to be a business major or have any type of certification other than hustle and hard work to work for yourself. If your unhappy with your current situation, what are you doing right NOW to make it better? Talk is cheap and worthless unless action is taken.

This last year I have gotten the opportunity to meet some important mentors who have helped me tremendously in my business and personal life. I can tell you personally that it is so important to ALWAYS surround yourself around like-minded people who are positive about life. It’s amazing what kind of mindset you can create by being around people who are motivated and driven to do great things.
On the flip side, I have had to distance myself from people who are negative all the time. These people will influence your thoughts and bring you to their level. Once the negativity starts to creep in your brain it will become contagious. I read a quote the other day from Sean Davis, a person I follow on Facebook that is always talking positively.
Stay away from people who have bad energy. Stay away from people that induce bad energy in you… especially if it’s usually outside of your character. Plain and simple… just stay away from them. It’s not you… it’s them.
As simple as this sounds, it is hard to break the ties with negative friends, but it is necessary. Who do you spend time with on a daily basis? Do you have a mentor who you look to for advice? Lastly, there are 24 hours in a day. You can choose how you spend that time however you want. You can either surround yourself around people who build you up, or be around those who tear you down. Choose wisely.
It has been interesting meeting and speaking with people since the summer started and everyone has been telling me how LUCKY I am to be able to do so much traveling and taking time to do the things I enjoy doing. To be honest it makes me laugh really hard knowing that the same people were the ones who thought I was crazy for starting my own business instead of taking a corporate job in 2009.
I wanted something different, I wanted to start something myself so that I could enjoy my job, work when I want, and do the things I enjoy doing on a daily basis.
Something I have learned by starting my own business is that NOTHING is given, but all is earned by working hard and being aggressive to make things happen.
I recommend being an entrepreneur to anyone that wants to have more control over their future and enjoy their “job”.
Personally, I have had an extremely difficult time working for anyone and that is why I have made the decision to be financially independent for the rest of my life. The quote below is one that I always think of when I think about creating your own business.
Find something you love to do, and you‘ll never work a day in your life
This VIDEO is one I watch on a daily basis and reminds me that people who do great things are one’s who never quit when the going gets tough. Hoping this post clarifies how lucky I am 🙂
I have been meeting with some people locally who have been looking for ways to automate their small businesses to make things easier for payments and email marketing. Two of the tools I use are paysimple and aweber marketing. This allows you to focus on your business instead of being distracted about payments and emails. Go check them out and let me know if you have any questions.

I saw a great video that I wanted share with you that is motivating me to take action on the things I want in order to reach the success I want.
The past two years I have had the chance to meet new people and hear what they are into. So many people jump straight into talking about what kind of job they have instead of talking about things they enjoy. I think many people let their jobs dominate their life and are only working to make a living. I have always believed in working in an environment with the least amount of stress as possible. I have made it a personal goal of mine to be financially independent from the corporate world. This is possible by giving up the idea the that a job is the means to survival and replacing it by being happy by helping people with whatever you are passionate about.
